Sacha Inchi, in Latin Plukenetia volubilis L., is a climbing tree originally found in regions of South America. Its fruits are green during the growth period, with a specific star shape, with each point representing one pod. During the ripening process, these pods gradually turn brown and form a fruit inside them – tiny oval-shaped nuts. They are a favorite superfood not only for locals, and because of its unique composition and effects is increasingly exported to other continents.
