Amazonian Reishi, Latin for Genoderma applanatum, belongs to medicinal mushrooms, as well as its sister Ganoderma lucidum (it is the original variety of Reishi, which has only slight differences from this Amazonian one in terms of appearance and active substances, so they can be interchangeable in terms of therapeutic action). It has been part of traditional Chinese medicine for centuries, serving as a treatment for a wide range of ailments. It contains a high amount of bioactive compounds that make it a completely unique healing agent. It contains high amounts of polysaccharides, beta-glucans, ganoderans, steroids, triterpenes, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and building elements such as zinc, copper, calcium and others. Its spectrum of positive effects is really wide and it is rightly referred to as the mushroom longevity or immortality.
The tincture production process:
Reishi fruits are extracted by ultrasonication under strictly regulated processes where the temperature never exceeds 38 degrees Celsius. This production process ensures that the medicinal bioactive compounds of the plant remain intact and retain their original properties and synergistic action.
The tincture has a long shelf life because it contains alcohol as a preservative, which prevents the spread of unwanted microorganisms. For each liter of extract, 1 kilogram of fruiting bodies Genoderma applanatum was used.
For this extract, only the fruits of Ganoderma applanatum are used, which come directly from an indigenous community called Siekopai. As soon as the rainy season ends here, members of this community go to their ancestral lands to harvest the mushroom's mature fruits. An independent local mycologist then hand-assesses the harvested fruits to make sure we are dealing with the right type of fungus.
