Banisteriopsis caapi is vine, which has been used for centuries in South America as one of the main ingredients in the sacred hallucinogenic drink Ayahuasca. Shamans use this drink for inner healing and divination. In some cases, the plant is administered alone. Although it does not induce such rich hallucinogenic experiences, it still contains many active substances affecting the nervous system. The decoction of this liana acts primarily as a natural antidepressant. It can pleasantly lift the mood and relieve stress and anxiety. The slightly hypnotic effects can be used for deep meditation or relaxation. After using the plant, one falls asleep beautifully and vivid and colourful dreams follow .
According to the legislation of the Czech Republic, Banisteriopsis Caapi is not an approved nutritional supplement or food and is therefore sold only for collectible purposes.
