Ashwagandha, in Latin Whitania somnifera, or Indian ginseng, is one of the most valuable jewels of traditional Ayurvedic medicine. It has been used regularly for centuries for its beneficial effects on the whole organism. It serves as a tonic, improves mood, reduces stress and can also improve cognitive functions. It is no accident compared to ginseng – it also acts as a stimulant and aphrodisiac. Due to the high amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants it is used as an adaptogen – it supports the overall optimization of the organism and is an effective prevention against diseases.
