Cocoa, Latin Theobroma cacao, is an evergreen tree found in South America. It gained its popularity mainly due to its fruits. These are the seeds we call cocoa beans. It is undergoing a subsequent treatment to create popular delicacies such as cocoa powder, dark chocolate, and other cocoa products.
Thanks to the combination of active ingredients caffeine and theobromine, cocoa gently stimulates the body and promotes a good mood. The presence of amino acids brightens the mind and promotes cognitive functions of the nervous system. Cocoa is categorized as a superfood and thus contributes to the overall harmonization of the body.
You can prepare a warm cacao drink from 1-2 teaspoons of powder. Water or milk can be used. You can add honey, cinnamon or other spices for flavoring. A combination with Maca Peruvian, Ashwagandha or Cola nitida is suitable. You can also freely add cacao powder to foods of all kinds, whether in various desserts, sweets, yogurt, porridge or smoothie.

Cacao products and EU regulations
At the end of 2018, the EU lowered the limit on permitted levels of cadmium in some products, including this cacao powder. Because the Ecuadorian and Peruvian soils, which are the primary homelands of cocoa, are rich in cadmium, higher levels of this compound are also found in cacao and its fruits.
Each modified cacao product – powder and chocolate products, officially entering the European market, must therefore undergo a process of at least a mild degree of roasting, which will make it possible to reduce the excessive cadmium limit in order to meet the legislative standard. Therefore, there is currently no cacao powder on the European market that is 100% unroasted.
Although it is still a natural product, with minimal modification, the trade name “unroasted or RAW” has been preserved perhaps across all European retailers. However, we feel obligated to inform you about how the situation really is.
This regulation applies only to already modified cacao products, our cacao beans, cacao paste, or other cacao products are still 100% unroasted and retain the full spectrum of active ingredients.
