Lentinula edodes in Latin, whose more familiar name is Shiitake, is one of the most widely used mushrooms in the world. The name is a combination of two Japanese words: 'shii', which refers to the chestnut tree on whose trunks the mushroom is often grown, and 'take', which is a general term for the mushroom. Its mycelium grows through the mass of wounded trunks and stumps of mainly deciduous trees, which it uses as a source of nutrients. Shiitake has a characteristic appearance - its cap is light to chestnut brown, often with fine scales. It grows naturally in areas of East Asia, especially in Japan and China, but is cultivated artificially all over the world. It is used in traditional medicine and modern nutrition as a natural source of energy and health promotion.

It contains a high amount of bioactive substances - polysaccharides, proteins, amino acids, polypeptides, and a high content of vitamins and minerals such as potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, iron, zinc, manganese, vitamins B2, B6, C, D and E. It also contains a significant amount of antioxidants that support the vitality of the body.

The main effects of this mushroom include - strengthening immunity and protection against infections, antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, support of the cardiovascular system, digestion and healthy intestinal microflora, support of vitality and overall resistance of the body thanks to the content of B vitamins.

STRENGTHENING IMMUNITY

The beta-glucans contained stimulate immune cells such as macrophages and T-lymphocytes, which can harmonize the immune system and strengthen the body's defences. Regular consumption of Shiitake can help reduce the risk of infections, promote recovery from illness and improve resistance to viruses and bacteria.

HEALTHY HEART

Shiitake contains the substance erythadenine, which helps harmonize blood cholesterol levels and promotes the elasticity of blood vessels. It also contains antioxidants that protect the blood vessel walls from free radical damage. This combination contributes to a healthy cardiovascular system and the prevention of heart disease.

SUPPORT DIGESTION

Shiitake is popular in Asian cuisine, where it is used for its delicious taste and as a meat substitute. Containing fibre, which supports the intestinal microflora, and beta-glucans, which promote the growth of beneficial bacteria, it benefits gut health, harmonises our microbiome and maintains the balance and proper function of the digestive system.

VITALITY AND ENERGY

Mushroom is rich in a number of vitamins and minerals that relieve fatigue and promote overall body stamina. The contained B vitamins support the proper functioning of the metabolism and the conversion of food into energy. Shiitake is therefore popular among people looking for a natural path to greater vitality and longevity.

Origin and composition

This liquid extract is made exclusively from fruiting bodies, carefully processed to ensure a high concentration of active ingredients in a handy 30ml bottle. The fruiting bodies are organically grown in Poland in certified laboratories. Read more about the processing method below.

Each bottle contains 20g of Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) extract. The extract is concentrated at a ratio of 10:1, which means that it takes 10 kilograms of fresh mushrooms to produce 1 kilogram of extract. This is a higher concentration compared to standard extracts with lower ratios (commonly available tinctures usually have a 7:1 or 5:1 ratio).

Ingredients: Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) fruit extract, purified water, food grade ethanol 22%. We do not use any fillers or additives.

ANALYTICAL REPORT

The pinnacle of extraction alchemy - dual extraction assisted by ultrasonic technology

The product is obtained from the original plant material by a double extraction method - water and alcohol. Hot water allows the extraction of water-soluble bioactive substances, while alcohol is more suitable for the extraction of other water-insoluble substances. By using both extraction reagents, an extract with a high concentration of bioactive substances is achieved.

We use a unique technology called ultrasonic assisted extraction (UAE) to create an even more effective extract. This method effectively disrupts the normally not easily accessible cell walls of chitin fungi, allowing for a more efficient release of bioactive compounds from the original plant matter into the final extract.

Practicality and effectiveness of tincture

Thanks to its easy application, the use of the tincture is very practical. It can be dripped into water, on food or directly into the mouth. This makes it an ideal wellness supplement for traveling.

The tincture is better absorbed by the human body compared to powdered extracts, so the onset of effects is faster and more intense.

Compared to encapsulated extracts, we also see the advantages of the tincture in that we come into direct contact with the flavour - the essence of the plant- through our taste buds before consumption. In TCM and Ayurveda, taste is one of the therapeutic tools. The taste and other properties of the plant activate specific processes of our body already in contact with the taste buds and prepare the body for the therapeutic effect of the product consumed. The taste also activates our digestive system in advance, allowing the tincture to be better absorbed by the body.

EFFECTIVE

Higher and faster bioavailability of active ingredients thanks to the effective breakthrough technology of ultrasonic extraction, considered the pinnacle of extraction alchemy.

100% NATURAL

Our extracts are completely natural - they are organically grown and contain no additives. They are thus the rightful holders of the BIO certification.

TESTED

Our products undergo rigorous quality testing in independent laboratories. The latest tests are available on each product page.

CONSISTENT

Thanks to optimized extraction parameters, the amount of active ingredients in our extracts is as consistent as possible, which makes the actual dosing of the product easier.

AUTHENTIC

The extracts are the result of a careful process of finding the best of nature to support human health. Everything has been carefully verified and tested before being brought to market.

Methods of application and dosage

The tincture can be taken in various ways - sublingually (by placing it under the tongue and then swallowing it), it can be added to tea, coffee, smoothies and other foods.

For starters, we recommend starting with 0.5 ml, once or twice a day. The concentrated formula delivers results even at this dosage. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 1 ml, which often provides optimal effects. We recommend taking this amount twice a day - a total of 2 ml per day.

The presence of ethanol and purified water ensures the tincture has a shelf life of up to 24 months, so you don't have to worry about early degradation. To preserve the maximum effectiveness of the tincture for as long as possible, we recommend storing it away from light, in a dry place, at room temperature or even lower.

Recommended combinations

Medicinal mushrooms should be taken at the same time as vitamin C. It has been shown that the combined use increases the absorption of the active substances of medicinal mushrooms by our organism. For this purpose, we recommend, for example, our BIO Camu Camu powder - crushed fruit boasting one of the highest levels of natural vitamin C on the planet.

To promote adaptogenic effects and overall health of the body, the tincture should be combined with other medicinal mushrooms. Also with other adaptogens such as Ashwagandha, Maca and Cacao.

How long before I feel the effects?

This is very individual. It depends on all sorts of body factors, and also on the variant of the tincture. While with some mushrooms we can observe the effects almost immediately, sometimes we need to wait several weeks before the effects are fully manifested. For medicinal mushrooms, there is a rule of thumb (according to TCM) that says we should stick with each mushroom for at least 3 weeks to adequately assess its effects and benefits.

Can I combine multiple mushroom tinctures together?

Absolutely. The combination of several types of tinctures is safe and often recommended. Each mushroom contains its specific bioactive substances, which in combination with substances contained in other mushrooms act synergistically. There are, for example, beta-glucans - substances that support immunity and vitality of the organism. Each mushroom contains its specific beta-glucans and each of them acts on bodily functions in a slightly different way. When multiple mushrooms are combined, the cocktail of these beta-glucans then switches on a wider spectrum of receptors that support the health of our body.

However, we recommend not to overdo it with the amount of mushrooms or extracts/tinctures consumed. If the recommended dosage of one tincture is 2 ml, in case of combination with other tinctures we recommend to calculate the amount of all tinctures taken so that the total amount is again 2 ml, or slightly more.

Why does the tincture contain alcohol? Is it necessary?

Alcohol is essential for the efficient extraction of important bioactive compounds that cannot be extracted using hot water. This makes the tincture an even more effective means of supporting your health.

In addition, the alcohol serves as a preservative, keeping the carefully extracted substances stable and helping to ensure the quality and durability of the tincture for a longer period of time.

As a result, when applying the tincture itself, you consume only trace and therefore negligible amounts of alcohol, which can be found in ripe bananas and other fruits, even in bread.
