The Ginkgo Biloba tree, also known in our country as Ginkgo, is the only preserved representative of the Ginkgo family. In the Southeast Asian region, it has been used for its healing effects for centuries. Its popularity continued to grow, and in the 17th century it reached Europe.
Ginkgo preparations are used mainly for their positive effects on the nervous system. Ginkgo increases blood flow to the brain, improving attention, concentration, memory and protecting brain cells from damage. The plant is thus suitable forindividuals of older age with incipient cognitive deficits, or also for students and managers to streamline their mental performance. Currently, Ginkgo is also used by alternative medicine as a prevention of Alzheimer's disease.
However, the plant does not only act on the brain, it expands and clears the vessels throughout the organism. It can be used for poor blood circulation in the limbs and other organs. It also helps regulate blood pressure and dampen headaches. And even individuals who do not have similar health problems will appreciate its effects in winter, when it can pleasantly warm up the whole organism.
Ginkgo also exhibits adaptogenic properties – it supports resistance to stressors, helps to overcome difficult life situations and lifts mood. Due to its high antioxidant content, it also supports the proper functioning of the immune system and gives vitality.
Dosage:
One teaspoon (3 grams) of crushed leaves pour boiling water and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. We take 2 times a day. Ginkgo should be taken regularly. The first effects may occur only after a few days of use.
Combination:
Ginkgo is suitable to combine with other stimulants of brain function. For example, a combination with Kolovník, Wayusa or Peruvian Maca is recommended.
Contraindication:
Due to its ability to increase blood flow in the body, Ginkgo is not recommended to be taken simultaneously with blood clotting drugs. The safety of use in pregnant and lactating women has still not been fully verified, therefore, in this case, it is appropriate to consult with your doctor.
