Kava Kava Just Tonga - Root Powder

,

Pouni Ono is a unique Kava from the island of Tonga. The volcanic soil there is very fertile and has given rise to a truly potent Kava with a delicate and pleasant taste. It has a relaxing and euphoric effect, but at the same time makes you feel more energetic and alert. Described as a more uplifting and less sedative variety, it is therefore suitable for daily use and serves as an ideal means of socialising and conversing with friends.

Since our original Pouni Ono variety is not available for a long time, we stock Just Tonga coffee, which is very similar to the original variety. It underlines the energy of the island of Tonga - which is known for producing Kavy with a more subtle character, more suitable for daily use.

I tried all three varieties of kava offered here – pouni ono, loa waka, and borongoru. Personally, I didn't notice much difference, because the effects are generally unpredictable – sometimes they are strong, sometimes not at all. The only obvious difference at first glance is that borongoru has much coarser pieces. In any case, compared to micronized powder, these three are definitely weaker. With micronized powder, 20-40 ml was enough for me, while with these I needed 40-80 ml. (For a tip on more economical consumption: after squeezing, I leave the bag soaked in water and after drinking the first portion, I squeeze it again to get everything I can out of it.) So the price/performance ratio is reasonable. It's definitely worth trying and, above all, sticking with it for a while, because the effects are usually stronger over time after breaking through reverse tolerance, which I definitely felt myself. Overall, however, it's not an extremely intoxicating effect, but rather a slight relaxation and mood lift. A kind of mild drunkenness with a clear head.
