White sage, Latin Salvia apiana, is a shrubby perennial plant growing up to 1 meter in height. Its homeland is the regions of Central America, especially Mexico. It is one of the most sacred herbs of the planet, traditionally used for cleansing and protective rituals – sage cleanses the space of negative energies, supports intuition and creates a suitable environment for deep spiritual work.
Sage smoke also positively affects the mind – the active ingredients have binding to cannabinoid and opioid receptors, thus relieving stress and tension.
Also known are the disinfecting effects, thanks to which sage helps to relieve diseases of the upper respiratory tract.
Use:
A smudge stick of sage is lit and then the flame is blown out so that the stick just smolders. We hold the sage in our hand and let it smoke with a place intended for a ceremony or other ritual. Smoke can also be used to clean objects and people.
